こんにちは。んー、このコーナー略すことにしたよ。ESMA。
[Strings Of Life / Rhythim is Rhythim]いこうかと思ったけど、
今回はこれでいきますか。じらしときます。ということで[Taj Mahal / Salome De Bahia]です。
フランスはイエロー・プロダクションを象徴するアーティストの一人でしょう、Salome De Bahia(サロメ・デ・バイーア)。2004年5月に出たこの曲は時期的に2004年の夏を見越してのもので、これまでの彼女の楽曲の中でも群を抜いて爽快な一曲となってます。ブラジリアンの名曲である[Taj Mahal / Jorge Ben]のカヴァー。プロデュースはもちろんBob Sinclar(ボブ・シンクラー)ですね。まあDJ Yellowだけど。ただのアッパーなハウスではなく名曲のカヴァーということで楽曲性もあってなかなか楽しめますのでおすすめ。
今年に入ってからは[Copacabana]という曲を12"でリリース。Barry Manilowの78年リリース曲のカヴァーですね。パーカッシヴなラテン調トラックでこちらも今年の夏に向けてヒットするんじゃないかと。この人の歌声はほんとに伸びやかで、なおかつ迫力もあっていいですね、曲がぐっと締まりますな。
最初にこの人の声を聴いたのは[Another Star / Stevie Wonder]のカヴァーである[Outro Lugar]でした、この曲一発でもう俺は惚れちゃったわけですが他には[Theme Of Rio]あたりも押さえておきたいところ。まあこの辺は全て2002年のアルバム[Cabaret(CDでも発売されてます)]で聴けますので、興味ある方は是非。内容はバラエティーに富んでて楽しめますし、またそれを全て歌いこなす彼女の歌唱力も堪能できます。ここで挙げた曲以外のクラブ・ヒットも網羅できますよってことで。それでは。
